If you like the novels of Deanne Gist and Lauraine Snelling, you’ll love USA Today bestselling author Stacy Henrie’s inspirational romance set against the backdrop of World War One!
Even at a young age, Ada Thorne knew that she would marry only for love, never money. So when she finds herself irrevocably drawn to Ned Henley, the lowly gamekeeper on a neighboring estate, she defies her parents and society by eloping with him to London to build a new life.
Without her family’s support, life in the city is far more difficult than the one of ease and privilege Ada has always known. She’ll find herself relentlessly tested in ways she never imagined—especially when Ned, answering the call of duty, enlists to serve his country in World War One.
Alone and near poverty with a child to raise, Ada’s resolve will be strained at every turn. And as she struggles to remain true to her convictions and live life on her own terms, Ada will embark on a journey of courage, faith, and love that will surpass even her own humble dreams . . .
I loved this book!! I did feel it started a little slow but not enough for me to put it down…and than your swept into a whirl wind of ada’s life…what happens and how things play out were kinda what I expected but all the little things that took place I couldn’t have guessed. We went through Many years with Ada…and I loved watching her grow as a person and closer to God. be sure to have tissues cause about halfway through your gonna need them and then a few times after that! Lots of tissues! Stacy if your reading this I need more….maybe like Rosemary grown up??? Maybe a little romance between her and William??? I mean devoted reader can hope right???
If you love a world war I story and you love a good clean romance than you really need to read this one!!

Thanks for reading and reviewing the book! So glad you enjoyed it. I love that you want more of these characters! 🙂 Someone else suggested a story featuring Rosemary as a young woman – it’s definitely something for me to think about.
Ooh definitely!! Even if it’s just a short story I know I’d be super happy!! And thank you for the book(writing it and letting me read it to review it!!)
