New week New pattern:) since my mom was looking for a star pattern I thought this pattern would be perfect:) This one looks fun and I love that it gives 3 variations…..now I don’t have a B hook but when I or my mom try it we will try a bigger hook, and I’m pretty sure we don’t have metallic yarn…I am thinking about tryong this with embroidery thread:) might be fun to make em tiny:)
Star Ornament
Add glitter to your Christmas tree- or your gift packages- with tewinkling stars worked in a metallic yarns in bright holiday colors.
Size
Six- pointed star: 4 3/4″ in diameter
four-pointed lace star: 5 3/4″ in diameter
four- pointed solid star: 5 3/4″ in diameter
Materials
Small amounte of a lightweight metallic yarn In various colors
Size B crochet hook
Gaue
Six-pointed star and Four-pointed lace star: 6 sts to 1″ and 3 rows to 1 1/4″ over dc worked om size b hook
Four-pointed solid star: 6 sts and 4 rows to 1″ over hdc worked on size B hook
To save time, take time to check gauge.
Note:for smaller stars use a smaller hook. For larger stars use a larger hook and yarn double.
Six-Pointed Star
ch 6 and join with a sl st to first ch to forma ring.
1st round: ch 4, 2 dc in a ring, *ch 1, 3 dc in ring, rep from * 4 more times, ch 1, join with a sl st to 4th of first 4 ch. turn.
2nd round: ch 1, 1 sc in last ch-1 sp, ch 7, * 1 sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 7, rep from * 4 more times, join with a sl st to first ch. turn.
3rd round: ch 1, 7 hdc in first ch-7 loop, 7 hdc in each of next 5 ch-7 loops, join with a sl st to first ch. turn.
First point
1st row: skip first hdc, sl st in next hdc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 5 hdc. turn.
2nd row: skip first dc, sl st in next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. turn.
3rd: skip first dc, sl st in next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in next dc. turn, sl st in center sp an dfasten off. work each of next 5 points as for first point.
Four-Pointed Lace Star
ch 10 and join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring.
1st Round: ch 11, * 4 dc in ring, ch 7, rep from * twice more, 3 dc in ring, join with a sl st to 4th of first 11 ch, 1 sl st in each of next 3 ch, turn,
2nd Round: ch 1, skip first st, 1 sc in each of next2 sts, * 1 sc in each of next 4 dc, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch , ch 1, skip 1 ch, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch, rep from * twice more, 1 sc in each of next 4 dc, 1 sc in each of next 3 cg, ch 1, join with a sl st to first ch. turn.
First point
1st Row: sl st in first sc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 9 sts. turn.
2nd Row: skip first dc, sl st in nect dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 7 dc. turn.
3rd Row: skip first dc, sl st in next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc. turn.
4th Row: skip first first dc, sl st in next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in eac of next 3 dc. turn.
5th Row: skip first dc, sl st in next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in next dc.
Fasten off.
Rejoin yarn ro a corner ch-1 sp and work first- 5th rows for next point. work next 2 points in same way.
Four- pointed solid star
ch 4 and join with a sl st to first ch to form a ring
1st Round: ch 1, 11 sc in ring, join with a sl st to first ch. do not turn.
2nd Round: ch 1, working in back loop of each st, 1 sc in next sc,* 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, rep from* to last sc, join with sl st to first ch. do not turn.
3rd round: ch 1, working in back loop of each st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, * 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc ineach of next 4 sc, rep from * twice more, 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, join with sl st to first ch. do not turn.
4th round: ch 1, working in back loops of each st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, * 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc on each of next 6 sc, rep from* twice more, 3 sc in nxt sc.\, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, join with a sl st to first ch. do not turn.
First Point
1st Row: 1 sl st in each of next4 sc. turn.
2nd Row: ch 2, 1 hdc in each of next 8 sts. turn.
3rd Row: sl st in first hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each of next 6 hdc. turn.
4th Row: sl st in first hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each of next 5 hdc. turn.
5th Row: sl st in first hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each of next 4 hdc. turn.
6th Row: Sl st in first hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each of next 3 hdc. turn.
7th Row: Sl st in first hdc, ch 2, 1 hdc in each of next 2 hdc.
Fasten off.
Rejoin yarn to a corner sc and work 2nd-7th rows for next point. work next 2 points in same way.
To Finish
Darn in all loose ends. I f desired, spray lightly with spray starch and let dry flat.

My mum made these:)And she figured out how to make a five point star….you follow the directions for the 6 point star…. except you do one less repeat from * on each round
