Featured author week–Amanda Barratt

Ok so this week I wanted to do something different(ya I guess I keep saying that lol)….you see I’m on Amanda Barrett’s influencer team for her newest book My Heart Belongs in Niagara Falls, New York it came out Jan 1st.

So when Amanda asked us(her team) if we wanted to do any special posts around the release and I had an idea….but you’ll have to wait till Tuesday to see the amazing post (amazing not because of me but because of what she added to it!) 😉 and I’m really really excited about it!!!

This week I decided to feature her!!

Monday(Goodreads Monday) it’ll will be one of her books(or a collection she’s in) I have yet to read

Tuesday will be a super special post that I really hope you love and that I hope to do more of!!

Wednesday (Wordless Wednesday) will be a Bookstagram of My Heart Belongs in Niagara Falls, NY and maybe a review of seven brides for seven texans(if I have to to read it)

Thursday (review) will be My Heart Belongs in Niagara falls, NY

Friday (First Line Friday) will be one of Amanda’s stories, still working on which one though

For today though I thought A quick interview with Amanda was a perfect way to start the week

Hey Amanda thanks for agreeing to stop by, I figured since you were being featured this week I should let you say HI and maybe ask you a couple questions!
So I was wondering,
What was your first published book?

Hi Alecia!
My first published book was a novella in The Most Eligible Bachelor Romance Collection. The story was set at a mansion I modelled after Biltmore in North Carolina. It was so fun to write!!

Did you always want to be an author?

I’ve always loved writing, but it wasn’t until about seven years ago that I started to seriously pursue publication.

And last but not least how excited are you to have just released My Heart Belongs in Niagara Falls, New York? (I know I’m excited for you 🙂 )

I’m crazy, over the moon excited!!!!!!!!!!! Releasing a full-length novel is a dream come true and I’m so grateful to God for this amazing blessing!

Okay, now that we’ve got the professional details out of the way, here’s some fun stuff:
Without the Lord’s grace in my life, my dream of being a writer would’t have become a reality. My hope is that when people read my books, they will draw closer to Him.
My mom and sister are not only my best friends, but my critique partners as well. They read my books, offer feedback, and best of all, tell me when my writing is terrible. ?
I cast my characters as actors from movies, mostly historical ones. Then I use these pictures on my desktop as inspiration.
At our house, conversations are what I’d call “eclectic,” which means that, in the space of five minutes, topics range from Dietrich Bonhoeffer, to I Love Lucy, to what macaroon recipe we should make for tea.
I’m Type A to the max, and can’t function without at least two or three to-do lists. And yes, confession is good for the soul.
Although I’m a huge Pride and Prejudice fan, my favorite classic novel is Jane Eyre. I love dark and brooding Bronte heroes!
I listen to a wide variety of music while I write, including movie soundtracks like Poldark and Schindler’s List, Irish ballads, and fun Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald songs.
I love everything about England and the royals (especially Will and Kate) and after I take a trip there, I will probably never want to leave.
