On Tour with Prism Book Tours.
Maggie Worthing is a Pinkerton Detective (I seem to be a reading a lot of female Pinkerton stories lately) I loved reading about her(you can read my review here) and loved even more having the chance to interview her!
So lets get to know Maggie better!!
Q: What made you decide to be a Pinkerton?
A: As a young widow, I was trying to figure out what to do with my life. I overheard a conversation between two men and discovered one of them was a Pinkerton detective. I was intrigued and decided to help him. I’ve always been observant and my late husband’s employment with the mines had made me privy to information the detective might need.
I made sure we crossed paths later that week, and then I told him what I knew, both about his identity and the information about the mines. I assisted him for another few weeks, but by then I was nearly out of what money I had. That’s when the detective told me there were women working as agents for the Pinkertons. He thought I would make a good one myself. And the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to give it a try. It’s been six years now, and I love my job.
Q: What was your first impression of Edward?
A: Ha! Stubborn and reserved, for sure. But also handsome and kind to his staff.
Q: Do you like the horse ranch?
A: I do. It’s been too long since I’ve been able to ride a horse for leisure, so I’ve enjoyed doing that again. But I also like how safe I feel at the horse ranch, even while trying to solve the mystery of what’s been happening to thwart Edward’s livelihood.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do to relax?
A: Probably reading or putting on my favorite pair of clothes—a man’s shirt and trousers—and galloping off across the prairie on the back of a horse. Although, I do sometimes find it difficult to relax completely, since my mind’s almost always riddling out pieces of a mystery.
Q: Favorite book?
A: I don’t think I could pick a favorite. I largely taught myself how to read, but I don’t own any books. Edward has a great library, and I’ve loved being able to satisfy my voracious appetite for books while living at the horse ranch.
Q: What’s your most special/prized possession?
A: Memories of my mother. She died when I was a little girl, so I have few memories of her. But being here at the horse ranch and attending church with Edward has helped bring more of those memories to mind.
Stacy than you so much for taking the time to have Maggie answer my questions!
And in case you didn’t see all this info in my last post!
