Caroline Adams returns to Indian Territory after tiring of confining society life. She wants adventure, and when she and her friend Amber come across swaggering outlaw Frisco Smith, they find his dreams for the new territory are very persuasive. With the much-anticipated land run pending, they may just join the rush.
Growing up parentless, all Frisco Smith wanted was a place to call his own. It's no wonder that he fought to open the Unassigned Lands. After years of sneaking across the border, he's even managed to put in a dugout house on a hidden piece of property he's poised to claim.
When the gun sounds, everyone's best plans are thrown out the window in the chaos of the run. Caroline and Frisco soon find themselves battling over a claim--and both dig in their heels. Settling the rightful ownership will bring these two closer than they ever expected and change their ideas of what a true home looks like.
I need to preface this review with an, I loved the story but…
I seriously took several days and refused to listen to. I was mad at the characters and sooo not ready to talk to them again! The way they were starting to act was making me happy but than they went and made some decisions I thought would end sooo very badly I didn’t know how it would recover!
In my head I blew it up and I just set it aside….kept telling my hubby I need to read but I’m just not ready to talk to them right now!
Anyway things didn’t blow up like I thought they would, a minor blowup but nothing like what I was afraid of
Moral of the story? Plow on even when your mad at the main (and secondary I guess ) character Don’t take more than a day to calm yourself but jump back in cause it probably won’t go as bad as you think lol
I have watched Caroline grow in the two (21” 1/2? Or 3? if you count the novella)previous books! She was a bit bratty in the first if I remember correctly but she has grown into an amazing woman, maybe still a bit bratty but she has grown!
Now Frisco, I almost don’t remember him from the previous books…just a hint hear and there. I loved getting to know him and watching the two of them work together
It was great seeing all the characters from the past. And seeing Amber and Bradley get married!!! (And yes they were the other two I was mad at!)
But seriously this is a great book and if you haven’t read the others in the series you won’t be too lost but why wouldn’t you wnat to read the whole series?? Trust me you want to, go, read them now!!
