I’m a bit behind on reading my for fun book (I’ve been too busy writing my current novel (a Scottish historical romance with supernatural twist) and reading loads of research books!) soo…I shall give you the first line of my current manuscript (novel in progress) and the last line I wrote yesterday (halfway point in the book, chapter 8):
First: “Far off from the clutches of the powerful British crown lay a group of isles, home to people who tapped into the penumbra between the natural world and the mystic.”
Last (midpoint of novel): “She flopped back onto the bed, clutched her aching chest, for she had no breath.” (and no, it was not a romantic scene)
Oooh!!! Sneak peeks are the best!!! And I didn’t think it was a romantic scene 🙂 I was wondering what was wrong with her!!! Did she run from far away or is she sick!!!
