When Katherine "Kit" FitzGilbert turned her back on London society more than a decade ago, she determined never to set foot in a ballroom again. But when business takes her to London and she's forced to run for her life, she stumbles upon not only a glamorous ballroom but also Graham, Lord Wharton. What should have been a chance encounter becomes much more as Graham embarks on a search for his friend's missing sister and is convinced Kit knows more about the girl than she's telling.
After meeting Graham, Kit finds herself wishing things could have been different for the first time in her life, but what she wants can't matter. Long ago, she dedicated herself to helping women escape the same scorn that drove her from London and raising the innocent children caught in the crossfire. And as much as she desperately wishes to tell Graham everything, revealing the truth isn't worth putting him and everyone she loves in danger.
How on earth did I not review this??? I swear I did a few weeks ago!!
Okay soooo You know a book is good and has your attention when your not reading it and your thinking about the characters and wondering about what’s gonna happen next…it took me longer to read this one just cause of how busy and tired I’ve been but if I hadn’t been working every morning and having crazy rest of the days I think I could have finished this one in two days or less
And Guys seriously I can’t right believe who jess was sooner how could I not!!! I knew there was some connection between Gavin manor and Hawthorne but I hadn’t figured it out….so when I was a little more than 3/4 of the way through I had to look…I was really worried I’d missed something, and I did how on earth did I miss who jess was???
This really was a great story and I loved seeing lit and her way of helping even if her way of insuring cooperation wasn’t the best way.
I loved graham….maybe more that griff…..but maybe as much as Trent and ryland….it would be very hard d to pick my absolute favorite
I really can’t wait to read jess and Daphne’s stories
